I wanted to capture the essence of Frida Kahlo in this little box, which brings together significant elements of her life and powerful work. You will find a human heart, a visceral symbol that reflects her intense suffering and passion (The Two Fridas, 1931). The tree roots represent her strong connection with nature and its symbolism, with a parrot and a monkey echoing the animals that adorn her works and self-portraits. Also included is the heliconia flower, the bird of paradise (Self-portrait with a monkey, 1938).
